For location shooting, I often use a mix of portable strobes and lightweight studio modifiers to get studio-style results quickly in the field. With today's automatic systems, it is lighting that separates professional imaging from amateurs. One can use a professional-caliber camera and lens, but without proper lighting, the results are little more than expensive snapshots that require (at best) a lot of Photoshop work to make them look right.
